Bengal and Savannah Pedigree Information
Since we first started breeding Bengal cats in 2002, we have been tracking the ancestors of our Bengals, and others, and now have a Bengal Pedigrees database of over 12,500 cats.
The database grows every day as we add more information, and we are now able to tell you the generation of your Bengal, identify what recessive coat colour genes your cat (or prospective kitten) may carry, or provide you with a full list of ancestors of your Bengal.

Full Pedigree
The full pedigree for the Bengal, shows each of the cats, at each generation, going back until an ALC or non-Bengal is found, or where the parents of a cat cannot be traced. It identifies the generation since the latest cross to an ALC, the genetic generation, and the generation since the latest cross to another domestic breed.
Full Pedigree
The generations search will tell you what generation your Bengal is:
- The pedigree generation to the nearest ALC
- The genetic pedigree to the nearest ALC
- The pedigree generation to the nearest other breed (non-Bengal and non-ALC)
Genes Search
The genetics search reports on the recessives: non-Agouti, chocolate, cinnamon, burmese, siamese, dilute, long hair, marble, melanism and smoke, looking at the first 5 generations.
The gene search can never be definitive. We can only give you an indication of the coat colour genes that your cat is likely to carry, based on the first 5 generations of the ancestors, and looking at all of their offspring.
It is not a guarantee that your cat will carry a specific gene - you would need to send off to a qualified genetics laboratory for a appropriate gene test to give you this information.
However, it is an indication of what genes your cat is likely to carry - to allow you to decide which genes to test for, or help you decide on an appropriate purchase or mating strategy.

The information will be correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of creation.
We cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide the sire and dam (and previous ancestors) of every cat within your cats ancestry. We will reduce our charges where ancestors cannot be identified in any line within the first 5 generations.

We are currently in the process of collecting the same information for the Savannah, and although this is early days, we will investigate for you, and give you as much information as possible (with the price reduced according to our ability to give you a complete pedigree).
